National Automatic Merchandising Association
We are a trade association that handles issues involving the food and beverage vending industry.
We are a membership-based association, and all member companies contribute dues on an annual basis. Membership dues are nonrefundable.
Our membership is divided into several categories. If you are in the Vending, Coffee Service, Micro Market or Foodservice industry, or you provide products and / or support services to these industries, NAMA has a membership category for you.
Operators
Companies providing Vending, Coffee Service, Micro Market or Foodservice Management services and support to business, industry educational, healthcare and public locations.
Machine Manufacturers
Manufacturers of merchandise vending machines that are coin-operated or accept cashless payments.
Suppliers / Manufacturers
- Vendible products, such as food, candy, beverages, merchandise etc.
- Coffee brewers and brewing equipment
- Rebuilders, remanufacturers or renovators of vending machines serving operators
- Conversion kits, components, parts and other supplies
- Unattended / self checkout and kiosk systems
- Supplies used by Vending, Coffee Service, Micro Market and Foodservice operators
Brokers
Companies that are independent manufacturers’ representatives appointed to act as their exclusive sales agent in an assigned geographic area.
Distributors
Companies that maintain inventory on their premises as they represent makers of product and equipment for the Vending, Coffee Service, Micro Market and Foodservice industries.
Sustaining
Companies or individuals providing services to the Vending, Coffee Service, Micro Market and Foodservice industries, such as:
- Advertising agencies
- Purchasing cooperative organizations
- Financial institutions
- Engineering
Research and development - Insurance
- Management consultants
International Subscribers
International non-voting member firms subscribing to NAMA services. These companies include operators, suppliers, machine manufacturers, distributors and brokers located outside the United States and have no vending, coffee service, micro market or foodservice business in the United States.

The NAMA Certified Executive (NCE) designation is awarded by NAMA to industry professionals who demonstrate the commitment, knowledge, integrity and leadership characteristics that distinguish them in their field. Eligibility requirements include NAMA membership, credits for industry-related work experience, continuing education and leadership activities.
Once deemed eligible, you may then sit for the exam. Upon successful completion of the NCE examination, you will be awarded the NCE designation, and will be recognized by associates, competitors and customers as an outstanding professional in the convenience services industry.
The Certified Coffee Specialist (CCS) designation is the coffee service industry's Mark of Distinction awarded by NAMA. It provides those professionals who are actively involved in refreshment services the opportunity to take their skills and knowledge to the next level.
